The course further develops professionalism at student level during placement and will enhance their performances of radiographic examinations involved in Head Radiography addition to the Thorax, Abdomen, and the Appendicular Musculoskeletal Regions. The application of professional code of ethics, patient care & handling and radiation protection measures are further considered as well.
The student is also introduced to other imaging modalities such Mammography (female students), Computed Radiography, Ultrasound and Magnetic Resonance imaging.
The student is again assigned the clinical workbook for recording all examinations that they were involved in during placement at the Port Moresby General Hospital and they will also continue to register in their BMIS Graduate Logbook.
Teamwork is encouraged further during tutorials, group tasks and discussions and placement.

Advanced Imaging is a continuation of Basic Physics of DR, CT & MRI and it introduces undergraduates to the imaging techniques and clinical applications of the advanced imaging modalities. The undergraduates at this level of study should have understood the basic physics of the advanced imaging modalities thus enabling each to further develop understanding of its clinical applications.

BASIC ULTRASONOGRAPHY. 2.49904
This course is designed to enable students to understand the basics of ultrasound as it is a Medical Imaging Modality that is readily available throughout the country. students will observe and undertake clinical applications of ultrasound in the working environment. The duration of this subject is 13 weeks to enable students to grasp the concept of ultrasound and it s practical applications.
It is a computer based imaging modality used to diagnose a variety of soft tissue diseases, organ diseases and obstetrics and gynaecology cases.
Students learn the basic physics, instrumentation and the basic principles of ultrasound Imaging. this subject is at the preparatory level and graduates can apply and build on that knowledge and experience.
